Position Summary:
The 4th Year Electrical Apprentice operates at an advanced, near-journeyman level, performing high-skill electrical installations and supporting crew leadership. This role includes advanced troubleshooting, system commissioning, and preparation for the Michigan Journeyman Electrician Exam.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, modify, and repair complex commercial electrical systems with minimal supervision.
- Lead small task crews of lower-year apprentices, ensuring workmanship quality and safety compliance.
- Perform advanced diagnostics, system testing, and commissioning support.
- Complete equipment installations, terminations, and final trim-out tasks to Engineered Electrical Systems standards.
- Ensure all work adheres to NEC, Michigan Electrical Code, and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of hours and training needed to qualify for the journeyman exam.
Qualifications:
- Completion of 3rd-year apprenticeship requirements and RTI coursework.
- High proficiency with tools, testing equipment, and commercial electrical systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Eligibility to test for the Michigan Journeyman Electrician License upon hour completion.
- On-the-job learning experience hours: 6000-8000 hours
